Introduction
Does faith have a limit? Or can we have faith without limits? The Bible makes bold statements about faith, for instance…
6) But without faith it is impossible to please him:Hebrews 11:6a (KJV)
and
1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
We also know that our salvation is based on faith. (Eph. 2:8) Also, we are taught that if we have enough faith we can move mountains. (Matt. 17:20)
A Faith Without Limits
The honest answer is that there is no limit to our faith. Yet, we must continue to grow in this area of our lives.“God never promises our lives will be easy or prosperous.”
God never promises our lives will be easy or prosperous. In fact, if all of our problems cease and our lives life become perfect the moment we become Christians, then we couldn’t build churches big enough to hold everyone!
The truth is that the Christian life is hard and rough on us, and that’s why we struggle sometimes.
God sometimes allows troubles to enter our lives to refine us. Just as gold is cooked to remove its impurities, God uses trials to test our true character.
He wants us to emerge from trials as shining examples for his glory.
Job is a perfect example of this. He was a righteous man yet he had terrible things happen.
He lost his kids, wealth, and was covered in boils yet he kept his faith.“We trust God when there’s plenty of food, gas and health, but we fall short when these things fail.”
We can study the children of Israel as they journeyed through the wilderness and saw first hand the work of God.
You would think of all people they would not have any lack of faith.
Yet, they murmured and complained about no food, water and being tired. Why did they not trust God after seeing his many miracles and for seeing them through their journey?
It’s no different in our lives. We trust God when there’s plenty of food, gas and health, but we fall short when these things fail.
Do we honestly not believe God can’t or won’t answer our prayers or that he doesn’t care?
Remember God’s timing and will is not the same as ours.
Imagine your life if you can with no doubts or worries. In that scenario, there’s absolutely nothing to stop us.
We need to strive to reach the point where we are completely worry free and trusting God’s plan.“What have you ever gained by worrying?”
Try to thank God and simply let go and fully trust in him and his abilities. At that point then it is out of your hands and in his hands.
Conclusion
What have you ever gained by worrying? Learn to walk in faith. That means daily steps that lead you closer to him and his will.
Most importantly when you pray you need to pray with faith! You must believe God will answer your prayers before you even ask.
Pray as if it’s a done deal. Try praying that way in every situation and watch what God does with your life.
God may not answer your prayers as you expect, but you will still have peace knowing it’s his will or because their is a better reason why he did not answer as you expected.
It’s all about trust! We can be faithful warriors or worriers. Which are you going to be?
