Podcast S2, Ep4 – I Marvel (Galatians 1:6-9)

J.R. Waller, MBA

In this episode of our series Going through Galatians Paul continues to set the stage for his great defense of the faith against those who have added works to the doctrine of salvation.

Paul “marveled” at the Galatian congregations’ quick departure from the truth of the gospel.

It is a seriously grave matter to leave the gospel. Christians must respond to those who depart from Jesus and the faith in a manner similar to Paul.

The congregations of the churches in Galatia fell away. False teachers “troubled” their hearts. These teachers provoked them to questioning clear truths of major scriptural doctrine. They stopped taking God at His word alone.

As Christians we must take God’s word alone as truth, even when we do not have all the answers, that is faith.

It is paramount also that Christians build a strong doctrinal foundation. This allows them to better obey Jesus’ teaching: “Let not your heart be troubled” (Jn. 14:1a KJV)
