Podcast S2, Ep 5 – Taught by Revelation (Galatians 1:10-12)

J.R. Waller, MBA

This episode continues our series entitled Going through Galatians. The series studies Paul’s monumental defense of the faith in the wake of those who were trying to distort the gospel.

In today’s lesson Paul once more validates his authority. He teaches that he was not taught the gospel by man, but through revelation by God.

Salvation is the greatest teacher. The supernatural revelation of the Holy Spirit in people’s lives is the only thing that can truly change men and teach them about God, their standing before Him and their eternal destiny.

Every conversion experience is a miracle just like Paul’s because salvation begins and ends with God. We cannot clean ourselves; we cannot enter heaven on our own. Only by God’s grace and supernatural revelation can we really discover “what life is all about.” Namely, that we are sinners in need of a savior.

Salvation teaches that we are sinners saved from death unto an eternal life of service to God. Therefore, just like Paul, we must ensure that we preach and teach the gospel for God’s glory alone. We must neither twist the gospel to fit mans conception of it nor must we preach solely to please ourselves.

Salvation and doctrine are for God’s glory alone. May we please Him and let His word stand in the wake of challenges to its authority.
